dont know if this has already been posted somewhere..
i recently found out when taking zinc supplements over a period of time, your body develops a defficiency in copper.
so for those of you taking over 20mg of zinc daily, supplement your diet with 2mg of copper. |

hey tdc,
thanks for the info. I'm taking optizinc that doesn't interfere with copper deficiency. I belive zinc picolinate is also good as far as copper is concerned. Thanks again!! _________________ "Even if I was banished to the darkest place...

Out of interest what are the signs of copper deficiency?
I'm taking between 30-45mg of zinc a day with no copper supplements but i haven't noticed anything bad happening. I was already aware that there was a risk of copper deficiency but haven't bothered doing anything about it...is that dangerous then or is the copper defiency something that doesn't really make a difference?? _________________ I also made a Marzipan voodoo effigy of The Fonze while I was in a coma after smoking some Peruvian prayer hash |

from the small article i read on it, it sounded like the main symptoms of copper deficiency are feelings of weakness and of being malnourished.
it went on to state that people who have copper piping in their house or in regions where the soil is rich in copper, dont need to supplement their diet with it. im honestly not too sure what regions of the world have higher concentrations of copper in the soil. but if you've been taking zinc for a prolonged amount of time, and still feel fine, chances are maybe you dont have to worry about taking copper. |
